I went in expecting a wonderful display of abstract art and dance form, and was instead mesmerised by the intense story and fusion of dances and music. Especially the music, it felt wonderful to hear it, to feel it permeate me within. As my friend pointed out, the music was the best thing about the ballet, and I agree. The ballet itself was wonderful, with the performances mesmerising, though I was a bit confused by the apparent story. I did not know that the ballet was a retelling of the classic Giselle, and naturally, I went ahead thinking of a fantasy setting (which was closer to the truth, but not entirely). In the end, I left feeling quite entertained, which I think, is quite a compliment in itself.
