review:
I bought this book a long time ago when I was enjoying Murakami. This seemed like a massive book (3 volumes) and so I left it until later. This year I decided to clear out the backlog, and so got to this. This felt like Murakami, but in such slow motion that I was constantly waiting for things to happen. Really wish this was a single book. The length is far too long, there are too many points at which you go no thanks (what is it with Murakami and young girls being involved with older men in questionable ways to justify it in the story?) and in general the main charisma of mystery seems convoluted rather than ethereal.,
