review:
The first book, The Sparrow, is one of my most memorable readings. Its an excellent introspection of religion and belief. So I was hyped to know there's a second book set in the same universe, and that I had found a copy in a second-hand bookshop. This book deals with the aftermath, with a new focus on the strange nature of the aliens and their culture in the first book. Less about religion, and more about the evolution of a culture to deal with its own horror (in the sense of humanity). I was a bit disappointed that this wasn't as shocking or thrilling as the first book, but there is a good commentary in here that is better laid out and less about one individual and more about civilisation in a broad way.,
