  • review: This was part of the bookclub, so gave it a go. Was really into the story because its told so well, and its so human and real, and just made me more aware of different perspectives that I thought I knew but benefitted from seeing it from someone else's experiences. The story is about how the author escapes from a war torn country where they are effectively cuturally and socially uprooted, and their move to America with their parents, the adaption, and rising through sheer dedication and mindset. Admirable, and a good look on the world being more than a few ideas and people despite what we get exposed to.,
